Tower Garden Greens

Pictured above is a close up of my vertical garden of greens.

On this tower garden I currently grow lettuce, spinach, kale, and cucumbers. So basically, a salad on a stick!

Now you may be thinking, this is an interesting way of harvesting fresh vegetables, how is it done? Well, you are right! It is VERY interesting, convenient, healthy, and so much more.

I am able to carefully select and harvest my own salad basics every day, in 5 mins or less, by use of my Tower Garden. I just grab a colander, and go to town picking what is ready! It’s that simple.

Now, I cannot be trusting trying to explain the science of this brilliant food source, but here is my understanding of it:

Plant the seeds in a green mesh acting as soil, water them yourself until they take. Then, when inserted into the Tower Garden, a pump continually feeds the buds just the right amount of water, infused with all the proper nutrients you would find in quality, natural soil from the earth. Bam. Thats it. You could feed a village in the middle of the dessert with this thing.

Now onto what I made of my Tower garden Greens!

I used a mixture of lettuce, kale, and spinach as my base. Then, I added some organic baby arugula.

Next, I had some Persian Cucumbers that needed to be eaten as well as some green onions.

As dressing, I added some good ole Rice Vinegar.

Quick note- when I was shopping for my rice vinegar I was initially going to go for the cheapest option, which was a store brand ‘seasoned’ rice vinegar. I took a quick look at the ingredients to see what is was seasoned with and was astonished to see HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. No need to say, I immediately put it back on the self and picked up the slightly more expensive bottle with one ingredient and one ingredient only: vinegar! So when you are shopping always be careful and read the ingredients!
