It’s everyone’s favorite time of year, gift giving and receiving rituals are just around the corner. I. Am. PUMPED. Giving gifts is something I really enjoy, and the more thought and effort I put into them the more excited I am to give them away.
However, I want to take it up a notch. Let’s give gifts this season that give to many, that have a ripple effect of love and support and cheer.
I’m always on the hunt for quality products that are both timeless and helpful. I want to support businesses that support others, not just through jobs but by giving and inspiring. Products or services that are selfless and sustainable. Here is what I have come by so far:
puravida braceletes
Spanish for ‘pure life’, these bracelets embrace simplicity and friendship. Each bracelet sold helps provide full time jobs for local artisans in Costa Rica. they bring such color into the world through these simple, and meaning full bracelets. Now thats something I can feel good wearing. Prices are super reasonable and they have tons of discounts!
jade yogamats
I discovered this company while at a huge Natural Products Expo in Baltimore, MD. There were over 3,000 business and products in the massive convention center. Yet, Jade stood out to me. The yoga mats are USA made for a start. They also PLANT A TREE for every mat sold. They are reaching one million trees planted! Not only that, they are determined to bring yoga to those who might not have access. For example, they bring classes and opportunities to schools, hospitals, shelters and even prisons (which I think is a spectacular idea, inmates could use a new stress reliever #matsoverguns #downdogoverdrunkdriving)! As if you thought they couldn’t do any more, you’re wrong! According to the color of each mat a portion of the proceeds goes to different charities. SO, if I were to buy a teal mat 5$ goes to ovarian caner research, but if I were to buy saffron mat a portion would benefit Autism. So cool.
Prices are up there, not going to lie, but you get a lot of beautiful bang for your generous buck.
roma Boots
is ‘giving poverty the boot’
These adorable and durable rain boots believe that we all have something to give, and that giving is better than receiving. Founded by a young man who was given hope by receiving his own pair of rain boots as a child in Romania. He states that “you don’t have to be rich, just kind.” Buying a pair of boots gives one to a child in need. Not only does that child receive boots, but the boot comes stuffed with school supplies! How is that for lighting up the young minds of the world? Roma Boots, first and foremost, believes in hope and that if we all give kindness poverty can be overcome as a state of mind and physical condition.
Prices are reasonable especially when you consider you’re providing two pairs.
I’m not even sure how many people read this little blog of mine, but its not many. Companies are not paying me to talk about them.
