A few months ago, in March I believe, I stepped on the scale and saw that I was 10 lbs heavier than I thought I was. I’m slim and healthy, but I was still concerned. 5lbs? Who cares! 10, however is calling for some changes. I quickly wrote down some goals and got cracking.
My diet? Simple. I ate as much as I wanted, as long as it was whole food and plant-based. Thats literally it.
I also made sure that I drank 3 liters of water per day, took Juice Plus, and B12.
My workout routine? Simple as well. I walked everyday on the treadmill while watching Game of Thrones. The first day I walked for 40 mins and increased by 10 mins everyday. Some days I did simple calisthenics and basic at-home movements like squats and calf-raises while jamming to Taylor Swift. I went on a 16 mile bike ride with my Grandmother to the farmer’s market. What ever it is, I enjoyed doing it and tried to generate some sweat!
A week. 7 days. I followed those simple guidelines and felt incredible! I was more motivated, had more energy, was more open to opportunities, and grew more confident.
I would say it was easy, and it was, but I was also a little obsessed. I exercised, ate, went to work, and slept pretty much the whole week. I was very preoccupied with writing everything down and tracking every movement. It is very time consuming to actively lose weight, but when done correctly, it is very rewarding. I truly felt incredible and energized. I was inspiring myself! It feels like a ball of light slowly growing and expanding inside of myself until I am radiantly happy and confident. Please try a whole food plant-based and active lifestyle for at least a week. You will love yourself for it. I know I do!
